Woman films Benidorm in day and night time – it's like two different worlds

The famed Spanish destination of Benidorm has plenty to offer whatever the time of day – as one holidaymaker showed in a revealing video clip of the popular resort

A holidaymaker soaking up the sun in Benidorm has shared what to anticipate in the Spanish destination – during both daylight hours and after dark.

More than 900,000 British visitors flock to the resort town annually, basking in the sunshine during the day and embracing the vibrant nightlife scene once darkness falls. You can get a totally different experience depending on what time you go out.

While you can kick back on beautiful beaches with some cheap and cheerful food during the daytime, you're likely to get a much more lively experience at night. After all, there are 150+ pubs and bars – including many on the buzzing strip.

Highlighting how much Benidorm changes when the sun goes down, Ellie Kelton posted a video to TikTok.

Her footage, titled "Day V night Benidorm edition", portrays a serene daytime atmosphere, with visitors unwinding or wandering along the shoreline beneath the golden sunshine.

However, her evening recordings reveal a contrasting scene. She filmed crowds of revellers moving to electronic dance music in a dimly-lit club with pulsating strobe lighting.

The clip has since garnered more than 219,000 views, as well as plenty of comments from people who have visited the holiday hotspot.

One viewer remarked: "Love Spain, love Benidorm. Best place ever." Meanwhile, another declared: "Can't wait to go back."

However, others definitely weren't impressed. One critic blasted: "Day is full old people in mobility scooters, night time all of p***heads and trouble."

Brits have been urged to stay safe and be alert when in Benidorm after a spate of robberies.

The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office has issued advice for those travelling to Spain:

  • Be alert to the risk of street crime. Thieves use distraction techniques and often work in teams. Take care of your passports, money and personal belongings.
  • Be alert to the possible use of 'date rape' and other drugs including GHB and liquid ecstasy. Buy your own drinks and always keep them in sight to avoid them being spiked.
  • Thieves posing as police officers may ask to see your wallet, claiming they need to see it for identification. Genuine police officers will ask to see ID but will not ask for wallets or purses. All police officers, including those in plain clothes, carry official ID.
