Watch: Katy Perry leaves Belfast audience in hysterics, asking 'What the hell is Lurgan?'
The hilarious exchange was captured on camera at her SSE arena show
Pop superstar Katy Perry left audiences in Belfast in hysterics on Sunday night after an interaction with a young fan she brought on stage at the SSE Arena.
The Firework singer was chatting with fans on stage as part of her show when she turned her attention to a young boy, who told her his name was 'Darragh'. When she asked where he was from, Darragh replied: " Lurgan." Not grasping where he had said, Katy asked him again to which he repeated "Lurgan".
Looking bemused, the 40-year-old star remarked: "What the hell is Lurgan?", leaving fans in hysterics. To add further geographical context for the US superstar, young Darragh replied: "Armagh", before she asked, "What is Armagh?" as Darragh informed her it was a county.
The hilarious exchange was captured on camera and uploaded to TikTok by user Lauren Orr, where it has garnered more than 27,000 views at the time of writing, and has been shared hundreds of times across the platform.
The singer then continued to attempt to say Lurgan in her best Northern Irish accent, before asking Darragh what he wanted to be when he grows up, to which he replied 'a singer', before the Roar singer handed the young man the mic and she encouraged him to sing to the screaming crowds who chanted his name.

The pair then belted out the star's hit 'Daisies' together, much to the audience's delight.
Ahead of returning to Belfast for her first Show in ten years, Katy said, “I’m so incredibly chuffed to bring The Lifetimes Tour to Belfast! I can’t wait to have a big sing-along of all the songs you love and more! It’s going to be a giant dance party, and everyone’s invited!”
Katy also donated £1 from every ticket to Music Venue Trust.
