An unbeatable crowd and hit after hit made The 30+ Club Festival a night not to be missed

Short half hour sets meant the constant change of theme kept everyone enthralled the whole night

There is nothing worse as you get older than feeling out of touch with current music and failing to keep up with the latest trends.

So a night out with The 30+ Club is a complete tonic for the soul. Turn that into a festival type environment and it was sure to be a recipe for success.

There was a feeling of pure joy in the atmosphere at Custom House Square as the crowd, a real mix of ages, rejoiced at hearing hit after hit from the 80s through to the 90s and even early 00s.

Shedding any feeling of responsibility for the night, the crowd really let go and embraced living in the moment. It was nice to see people enjoying the night with each other with very few living it through a phone.

There were some taking the odd selfie and people taking videos of the crowds enjoying some iconic moments, but for the large part everyone was just dancing and having a blast.

Short half hour sets meant the constant change of theme kept everyone enthralled the whole night. From the traditional 30+ disco set kicking things off, to the Pleasuredome 80s band and local DJs Stuart Robinson and Dave Ralston - it was a top class start to the night.

Hearing that familiar beat of Saturday Night starting to blare as Whigfield was on stage, I could feel my limbs start to move in a familiar motion. Even decades on that dance routine is deeply ingrained.

The Now 90s band brought some absolute classics including some B*Witched and Teenage Dirtbag and we then moved to Sarah Sax who brought the Cafe Mambo vibes to Belfast.

One of the most surprising aspects of the 30+ Club Festival for me was how incredible Take That's Howard Donald was as a DJ. It really was hit after hit and kept the crowd going almost to the end before a final 15 minute rave set.

I really hope this becomes a regular feature of festival season here in Belfast as it was a brilliant night full of classics and a crowd that was unbeatable.
