PSNI issue specific appeal for man after late night burglary in Lisburn
The property was rummaged through in the incident on Sunday night
The lock and door of a house in Lisburn was damaged in a late night burglary over the weekend, police say.
Between 11pm and 12am on Sunday, October 5, it was reported that a property was entered in the Hillsborough Old Road area. The lock and door to the property was damaged, while the living room was rummaged through.
Police said it is not yet known if anything was taken from the house, which was unoccupied at the time of the incident. The PSNI have issued a specific appeal for a man who was spotted in the area at the time.
Detective Sergeant Gray added: “We received a report that sometime between 11pm and 12am on Sunday, 5th October a property was entered in the Hillsborough Old Road area.
“A lock and door was damaged to the property – as well as a living room area that was rummaged through. Enquiries are ongoing to determine what, if anything, was taken from the house that was unoccupied at the time.
“We are keen to hear from anyone who may have noticed a man in the area around the time of the report who is aged approximately in his 50s and was wearing jeans and a light-coloured t-shirt.
“Please call us with any information on 101, quoting reference number 644 06/10/25. We would be especially keen to hear from anyone who may have dash-cam, CCTV or mobile footage of area that we could review.”
