The very first Lego store in Northern Ireland has officially opened today with massive crowds lining up to be amongst the first to get into the shop.

The store was officially opened by Dáithí Mac Gabhann, who is widely known and loved in Northern Ireland after he became known for inspiring a change in the law around organ donation.

Located in the Victoria Square shopping centre, the new 165sqm Lego Store will feature a range of experiences including the Lego 'Pick a Brick' wall, hands-on play opportunities and a 'Build a Minifigure Tower'.

Customers heading down across opening weekend can get their hands on free-with purchase gifts that are exclusive to the Belfast store. The gifts include a 'Lego Store Ribbon Cutting set' which will come with any purchase of £135 or more between August 28-31 while stocks last.

This new store is the 23rd Lego Store in UK and Ireland and brings with it the creation of 19 new jobs within the local community.
