Miss Great Britain contestant 'delighted' to launch own fake tan range
"I wanted something different that is suitable for everyone. I look forward to launching it into salons and shops locally."
A Co Armagh woman is 'delighted' after launching her own fake tan range that's been in the making for the past few years.
Katrina Barber says this is something she's "always wanted to do", with her tan first coming onto the market back in April.
The Richhill woman, who is a Ms Great Britain Classic Finalist, told Be: "I owned a business called Pure Magic Boutique and Spray Tanning Salon. I started this in 2017 and then closed the doors in April this year due to rent and rates.
"I have always wanted my own tanning range. I had been working on this for a few years and [was] delighted to launch it this year."
The 45-year-old, whose first business is now based from St George's Market in Belfast, said her tan range that's available online "is cruelty free, anti-aging and vegan".
She added: "I wanted something different that is suitable for everyone. I look forward to launching it into salons and shops locally."
Katrina says her fellow Miss Great Britain contestants have 'tried the tan and have loved it', with some people having already wore it to Ascot Races and beauty pageants.
"The girls have been using it, they're loving it", she added. On seeing her first few bottles of tan ready, she told: "It was just great to actually see it physically in front of [me], ready to go."
And on what is next for her new brand, Katrina told Be: "I would like to see it within salons, local businesses, local shops, and then branching out into the UK and Ireland as well, and all over."
The Co Armagh woman has been nominated for Female Entrepreneur of the year at the UK Small Business Awards 2025.
