Lewis Crocker sends message to critics after world title win over Paddy Donovan

Lewis Crocker was called the winner by split-decision

Lewis Crocker hit out at his critics after beating Paddy Donovan to be crowned the IBF world weltweight champion at Windsor Park on Saturday.

The Sandy Row man came into the bout as a massive underdog in the betting after controversially beating Donovan via disqualification in March of the year, and was wrote off by many ahead of the first ever all-Irish world title fight.

However, after a close contest, Crocker was called the winner by split-decision with two judges scoring the bout 114-112 and 114-113 in his favour, while the other had it 115-111 to Donovan.

Speaking to DAZN afterwards, 'The Croc' said: "I just want to say, all the people who gave me stick from the last fight, when you write your post tomorrow, make sure you write Lewis Crocker world f***ing champion!

He added: "I think I boxed a great fight and showed people that I could box. Nobody gave me a shot or a chance tonight.

"I know I can box sometimes, but I love to get stuck in. Big respect to Paddy, he is a great fighter and he will be back."

However, the two knockdowns Crocker scored ultimately proved to tilt the bout in his favour.
