A Northern Ireland actor is set to star in a new Netflix series due for release next month.

Thaddea Graham, who was born in China but raised in Co Down will take on the role of Bea, in new crime series The Irregulars.

Set in Victorian London, the series follows a gang of troubled street teens who are manipulated into solving crimes for the sinister Doctor Watson and his mysterious business partner, the elusive Sherlock Holmes.

As the crimes take on a horrifying supernatural edge and a dark power emerges, it'll be up to the Irregulars to come together to save not only London but the entire world.

The 23-year-old has already appeared in Netflix series Letter for The King and BBC comedy-drama series US which was based on the book by English author David Nicholls.

Praising the work of the team behind the new series, Thaddea told her Instagram followers she's so proud of what they achieved together.

She wrote: "Can we just take a moment to appreciate our costume designer @edwardkgibbon ‘s INCREDIBLE brain? His vision for ‘The Irregulars’ was next level and he and the rest of the costume department took so much pride and care in crafting each outfit to make sure it reflected the person wearing it."There were so many layers, so many looks, so many fittings and hours logged in the workshop. So many obstacles that they just took completely in their stride with a smirk and a quick witted comment. Thank you to every single one of the team for helping us bring these characters to life. As soon as I laced up those boots, fixed my braces under my shirt and looped through my belt, Bea was there."Side note: you’re stuck with our v serious looking lil faces for a while, but trust me when I say there’s a whole swarm of people working behind the camera to make that one shot happen. Not allowed to share more pics just yet but they’re incoming. None of this happens because of one sole person, it takes a village and we had a brilliant one.

"A family by the end of it who I completely adore. I can’t articulate how proud of them all I am and what we’ve achieved together. None of this would have been possible without them. I promise you’ll meet them soon enough xx"

In the new Netflix crime series, Thaddea stars alongside Darci Shaw ( Judy, The Bay ) as Jessie; Jojo Macari ( Sex Education, Hard Sun ) as Billy; Mckell David ( Snatch, Damilola Our Loved Boy ) as Spike and Harrison Osterfield ( Catch 22 ) as Leopold; Henry Lloyd-Hughes ( Killing Eve, The Inbetweeners, Indian Summers ) as Sherlock Holmes; Royce Pierreson ( Judy, The Witcher, Line of Duty ) as John Watson and Clarke Peters ( His Dark Materials, The Wire, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri ) as The Linen Man.
