Click Energy announce first household electricity price rise in three years
The price hike will see the annual domestic bill rise by around £39.60
An energy company in Northern Ireland has announced its first domestic price rise in three years. Click Energy has announced that, due to a rise in wholesale and market costs, it will implement a 3.5% increase in household electricity rates.
The change will result in the typical annual domestic electricity bill rising by approximately £39.60, equivalent to an additional 10.8 pence per day. The price rise will be effective from November 1, 2025.
Click Energy has not increased its domestic prices in over three years, with the company saying it has remained focused on keeping prices fair and ensuring customers benefit whenever market conditions improve.
Prior to this, following the conclusion of the UK Government’s Energy Price Guarantee in July 2023, Click Energy chose to hold its rates at the same level as the Guarantee, providing continued support for households.
This made Click Energy the only electricity supplier in Northern Ireland to maintain those lower rates, underlining its commitment to shielding customers from sudden price increases.
Andy Porter, Managing Director of Click Energy, said: “We know that any increase in energy prices is disappointing and not something customers ever want to hear. Unfortunately, the sustained rise in wholesale and market costs means it has become necessary for us to adjust our rates accordingly.
“At Click Energy, our priority has always been to provide customers with transparent pricing and strong customer support. We remain committed to delivering fair value and to helping those who may be struggling with their bills. If you or someone in your household requires additional assistance, please reach out to our dedicated customer service team, we’re always here to help.”
Click Energy said it remains committed to providing comprehensive support for all customers, with a particular focus on those in vulnerable circumstances. Anyone requiring additional assistance is encouraged to contact the company’s dedicated customer service team for personalised guidance and support.
