Belfast's SSE Arena opens ice skating rink to the public this Christmas season

You can have the chance to skate at the home of the Belfast Giants

There's no better way to get into the Christmas spirit by lacing up your boots and going ice skating, and you can now do so in the heart of Belfast at the SSE Arena.

Running on selected dates in December and early January, Winter Skate gives members of the public the opportunity to skate at the home of the Belfast Giants.

It will all kick off with a Twilight Session after the Belfast Giants game on Friday, December 22 at 10pm. Booking is essential and tickets go on sale at 12pm on Wednesday, December 6.

Tickets are priced at £9.50 per person for standard skate sessions. Including skate hire, tickets are £30 for a family of four or £36 for a family of five.

Time slots vary depending on the date. Public skating sessions will be available on the following dates and times:

  • Friday, December 22 at 10pm
  • Saturday, December 23 at 12pm
  • Saturday, December 23 at 2.30pm
  • Saturday, December 23 at 5pm
  • Wednesday, December 27 at 9.30am
  • Wednesday, December 27 at 12pm
  • Wednesday, December 27 at 2.30pm
  • Wednesday, December 27 at 5pm
  • Thursday, December 28 at 12pm
  • Friday, December 29 at 9.30am
  • Friday, December 29 at 12pm
  • Friday, December 29 at 2.30pm
  • Friday, December 29 at 5pm
  • Saturday, December 30 at 12pm
  • Saturday, December 30 at 10pm
  • Sunday, December 31 at 9.30am
  • Sunday, December 31 at 12pm
  • Sunday, December 31 at 2.30pm
  • Wednesday, January 3 at 5pm

Inclusive sessions will be available on the below dates:

  • Wednesday, December 27 at 9.30am
  • Friday, December 29 at 9.30am
  • Sunday, December 31 at 9.30am

Inclusive skating sessions are open to everyone, however, these sessions have a reduced capacity on the ice and will have no flashing lights or loud music playing in the Arena, to make the session more comfortable for children and adults with disabilities, autism, or sensory needs.
