Belfast social pictures as friends enjoy first night of Oktoberfest
Plenty of people were out getting into the weekend spirit early

The weekend is finally here, and plenty of people were getting into the spirit of it early on the first day of Oktoberfest.
The German Beer Festival has returned to Custom House Square, and is running until October 25. The event is a small imitation of the World-Famous Oktoberfest in Munich, with German food and drink served every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, alongside performances from an Oom Pa Pa band.
Our photographer Justin Kernoghan headed into the city centre for the first day of the festival on Thursday, September 25, to capture the good times being had by many.
Looking ahead to the weekend, the Met Office have issued a yellow weather warning for rain which is in place until 7pm on Saturday evening, September 26.
We hope you have a great weekend whatever you're up to!
Take a look through our photo gallery below for some highlights from the first day of Oktoberfest.
