Lewis Crocker became Belfast's newest world champion on Saturday night as he defeated Paddy Donovan at a noisy Windsor Park.

The atmosphere was electric as around 20,000 fans packed into the football stadium, the majority of them cheering for the Sandy Row fighter.

Crocker came into the fight as a massive underdog after Donovan was disqualified for striking 'The Croc' after the bell at the end of the eighth round in the first clash between the pair back in March, which took place at the SSE Arena in the city.

The Limerick southpaw dominated proceedings six months ago, but it was a much different fight this time around.

Donovan again controlled most of the fight, but was knocked down twice, in the third and fifth rounds, by the Belfast man, each time from powerful left hooks.

Crocker was declared the victor by split-decision with two judges scoring the fight 114-112 and 114-113 in his favour, whilst the other had it 115-111 to Donovan.

After the bout, Crocker celebrated the win with those closest to him, including his parents, sister Alanna, who in 2001 fought Katie Taylor in the first ever sanctioned womens bout in Ireland, and coach Billy Nelson.

Matchroom photographers Mark Robinson and were on hand to capture the scenes both in the ring and back in Crocker's dressing room. You can see a selection of them below:
