BBC Question Time to be broadcast from Belfast tonight

The long-running programme returns to Northern Ireland, where local politicians will be in the hot seat

The BBC’s flagship debate programme Question Time returns to Northern Ireland tonight, with the audience in Belfast set to put questions to a high-profile panel of politicians from Great Britain and Northern Ireland.


The discussion will be chaired by presenter Fiona Bruce, who has fronted the show since 2019. The long-running programme has been on air since 1979 and is based on the BBC Radio 4 programme "Any Questions?"


On the panel tonight is Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, Hilary Benn MP, who will face questions who will face questions days after the Labour Party Conference. He is joined by Alex Burghart MP, the Shadow Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster.


From Northern Ireland, Sinn Féin’s North Belfast MP John Finucane will be joined by the DUP’s Jonathan Buckley. The panel is rounded off by author and former BBC Dublin Reporter, Aoife Moore..

As ever, the programme promises a lively exchange on issues dominating the headlines in Northern Ireland and beyond, with the audience playing a central role by putting their questions directly to the panel.

The show will be broadcast on BBC News at 9pm, with a later airing on BBC One Northern Ireland at 11.20pm.
